Forza Motorsport 7 – PC, XB1 – October 3

Forza Motorsport 7 is the latest entry in one of the best racing series still running. Following the success of the franchises latest in the Horizon line, Forza Horizon 3, Forza Motorsport 7 looks to pull away from the competition. This iteration sports UHD at 60 frames per second and should be a great 4K experience. The game also features over 700 cars, dynamic weather, and a customizable driver. Racing fans and those picking up an Xbox One X have a lot to look forward to!

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War – PC, PS4, XB1 – Oct 10

The sequel to one of the best games of 2014, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War finally releases in October 2017. Of course, the familiar and highly-touted Nemesis System makes its return along with a multiplayer component (Social Conquest) involving conquering others’ Fortresses. Shadow of War features a new story where Talion faces Sauron and his Ringwraiths, but the Nemesis System will aid in creating unique, personal stories for players.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole – PC, PS4, XB1 – Oct 17

South Park: The Fractured but Whole is the series’ sequel to The Stick of Truth, finally releasing after a few delays. Taking place after the events of The Stick of Truth, The Fractured but Whole focuses on superheroes and takes advantage of the real-life popularity of superhero media. The highly anticipated RPG recently made headlines regarding their difficulty slider, which provides just a brief taste of the social commentary and real-life references expected of a South Park work.

Assassins Creed Origins – PC, PS4, XB1 – Oct 27

After 2 years without a mainline release, Assassin’s Creed makes its return with Assassin’s Creed Origins in October 2017. Despite the relatively bland title, Assassin’s Creed Origins is perhaps the most promising and anticipated Assassin’s Creed title since Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The game puts you in the role of Bayek, a seasoned assassin in Ancient Egypt. In addition to the usual narrative, Assassin’s Creed Origins features an arena-based combat system, loot, and an objective-free “Discovery Tour”.

Super Mario Odyssey – Nintendo Switch – Oct 27

Whenever a new Mario game is released, hype is abuzz. With a new hat and various other abilities, Mario is ready to start a whole new journey through a wide variety of kingdoms and levels. Winning a bunch of awards at both E3 and Gamescom this year, Super Mario Odyssey is surely one of, if not the most anticipated game coming in the second half of this year!
