Pokemon Go players found another pretty, little, shiny Pokemon, the series’ unofficial mascot.

Niantic first unleashed the shiny-colored variant of Pikachu into the wild over the weekend, during Japan’s Pikachu Outbreak event. The Pokémon-themed outdoor celebration included several goods for Pokémon Go players, with the ability to find and capture shiny Pikachu the most visible.

But people outside of Japan are sharing their own shiny Pikachu finds on Twitter and YouTube, with the first occurring not long after the Japanese event’s conclusion. It looks like shiny Pikachu wasn’t a limited-time, Japan-exclusive treat, but one that the rest of the world gets to take part in, too.

Shiny Pikachu is a slightly darker version of the regular Pokémon, with sparkles on its Pokédex page to denote its special coloration. It’s a subtle difference, but if you’re a serious collector, it’s one you’ll want to hunt down.

Pikachu joins Magikarp as one of two wild Pokémon recolors that players can find in the game. The release of shiny Magikarp earlier this year was also a surprise to fans — especially since it maintains its unique coloring when it evolves into Gyarados.

Shiny Pikachu may not be quite as exciting as Mewtwo, the new legendary Pokémon that Niantic also debuted in-game this weekend, but at least we all have a good chance of catching the golden cutie.
